It's Giving (Thanks)
The Awards, PaxU, and gratitude
This year is slipping by so much faster than I can catch it. But that’s ok! Better things await, always.
In the meantime, here’s what’s new:
I won a The Awards award for The Cross Stitch!! (Their website isn’t fully updated as of the time of this newsletter, but here’s proof.) I’m still a little in disbelief to see my work in the company of such amazing games by such great designers.
I’m going to PaxU this weekend! It’s also my birthday this weekend, so you’re legally required to be very nice to me if you see me. Where will I be? Here’s a helpful guide:
I do not know
I’m there the whole weekend
I didn’t make business cards or anything fun to hand out, I’m sorry
I’ll put a selfie somewhere on my social media to make me a bit more find-able, and despite my absolute unpreparedness for networking I would really love to meet you. So please do say hi if you see me!! I’m nice, I swear
Shortly after last month’s newsletter, The Silt Verses RPG was released! And it’s held its spot among the top sellers on DriveThruRPG since.
Layout is well and truly underway for Triangle Agency, and y’all, this game is so cool.
My day job has prevented me from making much progress on Hillbrook Glen or Ex Nihilo Ad Nihilum, but I’m trying. Slowly.
Which brings me to what I’d like to say very (very) briefly: thank you!
It’s always easier for me to work on other people’s projects than my own. I’m still new enough at game design that publishing my own work feels vulnerable, self-important, and just generally kind of scary. But I’m so grateful to have found that people really are willing to play around in these funky little worlds. So I want to thank you all for that!
Looking to the future,
Ben // Foresight Studio
As always, would love to hear what you think. Find me on tumblr or twitter (or cohost or bluesky or mastodon, all of which overwhelm me so no guarantee I’ll be posting much there), or come chat on the Foresight Studio discord server.
